Prayer Flags in the Garden
-
Join Amy as she guides a small group through a soulful day of creatively expressing our prayers for our planet, the natural world, the animal world, our families, and ourselves by carving our own designs, imprinting, and embellishing the flags with personal prayers, symbols, and Mantra.
The originators of this ancient Bon and then Buddhist tradition intended these works of devotion, love, and art to fly high and spread the prayers via the wind. The flags won’t last forever, but hopefully, our memories and intentions set from this special day will.
You will leave with a strand of 10 beautiful, personally reflective flags to hang in or outdoors, to benefit all who pass beneath them.
All artistic levels, All level Yogis (gentle class provided), and All faiths are welcome. The only prerequisite is an open heart and mind.
All supplies provided
Bring your yoga mat and water bottle
Healthy Lunch and snacks included.

Relaxing Around the Creative Process: Yoga and Art
-
This is the first of 3 upcoming retreats that progressively go deeper, and is open to all levels of yogis and artists. This first is a gateway event, designed to help us access our creative inner flow. We will practice very gentle yoga to prepare and unfold our bodies and minds. Then I’ll introduce a scientifically backed art technique that I’ve found to bring a deep meditative state where intuition is easily accessed and flow occurs without effort.
The blank canvas can feel daunting, but having a simple assignment helps us organically unleash our inner expression. We get to doodle and color freely, as we did when we were children. As we create, we’ll pay special attention to our thoughts and emotions, which reflect how we talk to ourselves in everyday life.
This relaxing workshop prepares us for the upcoming more immersive two-day workshop (October 10 & 11) that dive deeper into creative play and our intuition.
I hope you can join me for this one or all of them!
All supplies provided. Bring your mat and an open heart and mind!

Meditative Art - Studying Leaves
-
In this workshop, we will begin with a brief meditation in the garden, followed by a fun, free, and easy collage "under painting." After a healthy, light lunch, we’ll practice studying the concept of seeing and painting negative space. This technique requires Dhyana, or deep concentration, and feels very meditative.
You’ll be surprised by the outcome! You may stay later if you’re on a roll (and you will be!)
All supplies provided, but bring a yoga mat.
Space for this event is limited.

Paint Your Guts Out - Intuition Painting Workshop
-
Intuition Painting - We’re using the Creative Process to dive deeply into self-discovery. It’s not an Art class because we are interested in process over product.
We use meditation, pranayama, and embodiment as tools to break through our Inner Critic, then invite our intuition to work through us, and we paint spontaneously in the moment. What arises can be so informative. The canvas acts like a mirror, reflecting not only impactful images but also how we talk to ourselves throughout the process. The paint and paper simply provide another medium for our yoga practice.
Boost our creativity and get the juices flowing again. Imagine art without rules!
Find JOY
Release stress
Battling pain? Intuitive painting can provide an outlet and help with the healing process. We paint the pain.
Release anger, maybe old stuff stored way down that you can express via painting and find healing.
Connect with yourself. When was the last time you allowed yourself to feel and learn the ART of listening to your intuition?
Practice mindfulness: This process helps you to stay in the here and now, thus increasing awareness.

“Such a lovely day! We had a wonderful time together meditating, chanting, making art, chatting, and appreciating nature. Amy fed us such a yummy breakfast and lunch. So happy to see what we can in nature, and try new techniques to express our version of it. We CAN create beautiful art, and together it is more merry.”
— Izumi S “This weekend was so incredible. Getting to spend time making new friends and diving into the creative process alongside other women is such a special and sacred experience! I didn’t feel like I needed to be good at art or have any experience, I just got to have fun exploring my subconscious through creative PLAY, which is something us adults can forget how to do! What a beautiful way to connect to ourselves and eachother.”
— Tessa C“I had a marvelous time at your workshop Amy!. I appreciate the way you set the vibe for our afternoon with a gentle yoga practice, and breath work in your lush garden. It was really easy to fall into a creative flow…You served us many sources of inspiration—from nature to your own artwork—and gently guided us as we experimented with techniques, colors and plants. I can’t wait to take more of your workshops!”

Gelli Print Making and Collaging - Celebrating Natural Shapes in nature
-
Come join us as we explore, with childlike freedom, two techniques for making collages. In one technique, we’ll imprint leaves and flowers onto our homemade Gelli Printmaking papers using Acrylic paint.
The other technique will involve creating loose, abstract watercolor doodle designs on textured handmade paper.
Yoga Philosophy is always with us, but at this juncture, after all the homemade papers are done, we really notice our attachment (Aparigraha) before we rip them up into pieces and shapes that please. These pieces will come together in shapes that emerge through intuition meditations, and, after consulting several examples.
The beauty of Collage is that there is no losing, failing, or frustration because ANYthing goes!
